What is the difference between COB, RGB and RGBIC LED strip lights?

COB refers to a high-density LED construction that creates a smooth, nearly dot-free line of light. RGB strips display one selected color across the strip, while RGBIC models can show multiple colors simultaneously for flowing and animated effects.

Which voltage should I choose for my LED strip lights?

5V USB strips work well for shorter setups such as TV backlighting. Choose 12V or 24V for cabinets and longer installations, while 220V models should only be used with compatible electrical systems and plug types.

How do I prevent brightness loss (voltage drop) in long LED strip runs?

To ensure consistent brightness, the installation depends on the voltage:

  • DC24V COB Strips: No voltage drop for runs up to 10 meters when powered from one end.
  • DC12V COB Strips: Best for runs up to 5 meters.
    For lengths exceeding these limits, we recommend powering the strip from both ends (dual-terminal power supply) to maintain uniform illumination.
    Note: Our strips feature 0.5m welded segments—a standard in high-quality electronics—and include adhesive backing for easy mounting.

Can LED strip lights be cut to fit my space?

Many LED strips can be trimmed at the marked cutting points and reconnected using compatible accessories. Waterproof, neon and 220V strips may require specialized connectors, end caps and resealing to maintain safe operation.

Are waterproof LED strip lights suitable for outdoor use?

Yes, as long as the product’s IP rating is suitable for the expected exposure to rain or moisture. The connectors, controller and power supply may have different ratings and must also be protected appropriately.

Do I need an aluminum channel for LED strip lights?

An aluminum channel is not required for every installation, but it can create a cleaner, straighter finish while protecting the strip. It may also help manage heat in brighter or permanently installed lighting setups.
