How to Choose LED Puck Lights

LED puck lights create defined pools of illumination beneath cabinets, inside shelves and across display spaces. Rechargeable and battery-operated models suit areas without convenient wiring, while plug-in and hardwired systems are better suited to longer or more frequent use.

Consider how many lighting points your space needs, how they will be controlled, and whether you want warm task lighting or adjustable color. Motion sensors work well for brief-access areas such as closets and cabinets, while remote and smart controls make it easier to manage several puck lights together. For broader, more continuous coverage, compare LED light bars or LED strip lights.

LED Puck Light FAQs

How do I choose between battery-powered vs. hardwired puck lights for my space?

It depends on your usage frequency. For high-traffic areas like kitchen task lighting, hardwired (12V) or USB-powered puck lights are better to avoid frequent recharging. For low-traffic spots like closets, pantries, or rental units where drilling isn't an option, rechargeable motion-sensor lights offer the best balance of convenience and easy installation.

Will adhesive puck lights fall off my cabinet surfaces over time?

Our puck lights use industrial-grade 3M adhesive combined with a magnetic base. To ensure they stay secure, clean the surface with alcohol before applying. For porous or heavy-texture surfaces, we recommend using the included screw-in magnetic plates for a permanent, fail-safe mount that still allows you to pop the lights off easily for charging.

Can I control multiple puck lights with a single remote or app?

Yes. All lights in our Remote-Controlled or Smart Zigbee/WiFi series can be synced. You can group multiple units to turn on/off, dim, or change colors simultaneously. If you're building a larger setup (6+ lights), the Zigbee version is recommended for more stable, lag-free synchronization within your smart home ecosystem.

Which color temperature is best for kitchen counters vs. display cases?

For kitchen task lighting, we recommend 4000K (Natural White)as it provides the best clarity for food prep. For display cabinets or accent lighting,3000K (Warm White) creates a cozy, high-end gallery feel. If you want versatility, our CCT-adjustable models allow you to switch between warm and cool tones depending on the time of day.

Are these puck lights bright enough to replace traditional under-cabinet fixtures?

Our High-CRI (80+) Aluminum series is designed as a functional lighting solution, not just an accent. With up to200-300 lumens per light, they provide ample brightness for reading recipes or detailed work. However, for large kitchens, we suggest spacing them12–18 inches apart to ensure even light distribution without dark spots.

Do these puck lights work on 12V RV systems or just standard wall outlets?

We offer specific Low-Voltage (12V DC) models specifically for RVs, vans, and boats. These can be wired directly into your vehicle’s power system without an inverter. For home use, our USB-rechargeable or AC-adapter versions are the standard choice. Make sure to select the "12V Hardwired" option if you are retrofitting a mobile living space.
