Make the sensor see the retrieval action

Decide Between One Light and Multiple Shelf Lights

Is a door sensor better than a motion sensor inside a pantry?

Use a door-contact sensor when one door should define the light state exactly. Use motion when a person or reaching hand can trigger the light naturally, especially in an open pantry or a cabinet with several doors. Can one light at the top illuminate every pantry shelf?

Should a motion sensor point into the cabinet or toward the room?
